一、學校概況
紐約州立環境科學與林業學院（SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry）以解決林業問題為目標，于1911年在紐約州雪城創立，創立時名為紐約州立林學院。1912年，學校又在Wanakena創立分校區隨著學校的發展，學校又逐步增設了設計、工程、生命科學等自然資源管理院系。
1948年，隨著紐約州立大學聯盟的形成，學校成為聯盟體系中重要的部分，并更名為紐約州立環境科學與林業學院簡稱為ESF。
現今，學校在林業、環境保護、生態、生物多樣性等領域處于領先地位，已成長為一所以環境森林為特色的綜合性大學，是USnews中唯一一所全美排名前100的林業環境特色大學。
